It's February. 2026 can now commence!
Hello, and apologies for the lack of new content recently.
After a rather hectic but thoroughly enjoyable year, I took 6 weeks off from potting, and doing anything remotely ceramics orientated.
Now, refreshed and full of ideas, I'm back in the ex-dining room I rather grandly call my studio. It may be small, but it's warm, light, and perfect for all things clay... and as my first job was a bit of a tidy up of the tools, materials and abandoned projects of last year, there is actually some space for me to work in there again now!
2026 Schedule - so far.
I'm getting about a bit this year with some cracking fairs and exhibitions already lined up. These include:
- Delamore Arts Kiln Rooms exhibition, for the whole of May, with the launch and preview date set as Sunday 26th April 12pm to 5pm.
- Toby's Garden Festival at Powderham Castle, Exeter on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd May
- Maxstoke Castle Artisan Show in Warwickshire, beautiful and proper castle (with moat!) 16th and 17th May.
- Kiln Ceramics exhibition and Fair at the magnificent Masson Mills in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July.
- Exeter Craft Festival on the Cathedral Green on Thursday 9th - Saturday 11th July inclusive.
- Exeter Potters Market, The Transit Shed, The Quay, Exeter Saturday 1st August 10am to 4pm.
I have applied for other events, but I am still waiting to see if I will be invited or not. Obviously I will put them up on my events page when I know (or more likely, get my husband to).
Cornwall Garden Society
My first outing this year is the Cornwall Garden Society Spring show, held at the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge, PL27 7JE at the end of March.
It’s normally a blustery affair, being rather perched on a hill top. The flowers are beautiful, and there's lots to capture the imagination from talks to show gardens. I'll be outside in the arena opposite the cattle shed.

Our prestigious Spring Flower Show attracts RHS judges, master growers, specialist nurseries and holders of National Plant Collections®. Welcome to our ‘Chelsea of the South West
I'll be there with some seed heads, bird baths and the like.
Also I hope to be trying out some new earwig tubes. Yes you read that right! They are tubes of clay with straw or corrugated cardboard up inside them. Earwigs love the nooks and crannies. If you place them in an apple tree or the like they will take up residence. From there you can place the tubes into your vegetable garden, 6 to 9 inches off the ground, and let them munch their way through the aphids on your vegetable plants, especially broad and runner beans.
Love it when you can encourage nature to sort out some of the other nature that might be garden pests for you, rather than reaching for the chemicals.
The fair is open from 10am to 5pm, Saturday 28th, and 10am to 4pm Sunday 29th March 2026.
Easter Exhibition at Blisland Institute
Next comes the Easter Exhibition at Blisland Institute on Bodmin Moor. The launch evening is Thursday 2nd April 6pm to 9pm, well worth a preview of the wonderful work and get to meet the artists – including me of course!
The actual event runs inclusively from Friday 3rd April (Good Friday) to Monday 6th April 2026, open from 10am to 6pm daily.

Selected artisan’s work is shown in the old school room of the institute.
Trudi and her team do an exceptional job of displaying all the work from all genres. Ceramics, painting, and dry point etching being just some of the traditional crafts on view.
More updates will follow as soon as I can, giving a better overview of the individual fairs coming up, and my new work!
Bye for now,Jayne
