Small Things

product highlight

If you have visited my Events page, you will see the picture of some of the small things I make and sell at the craft fairs. It's not just big vases and lamps!

The flowers are what I call Rod Toppers.

They are made with a little collar on the base that should be about right for sliding on top of bamboo sticks (or other bamboo-stick sized things) in the garden.

There are two jobs for them to do. One, they will save the gardener (or secret produce picker!) from poking their eye out on the unseen top of a row marker stick. And two, they are designed to collect little amounts of rain water in the dished areas, so that they can hopefully be just what a thirsty butterfly or bee needs to find after some hard pollinating work.

The other pebble-like things are Rattle Stones. They are hollow and have anything from four to six ceramic beads inside them. They are very tactile things to hold and run your fingers over with the different ridges and dips of the shapes made on them. Then of course they rattle if shaken - or you feel them moving inside when tipped and rocked gently - which can be a pleasing and comforting sensation to those of us that like something to fidget with in our hands.

I think that no matter what your budget is, you should have access to beautiful things.
