Springing into action!
This years’ first Artisan Markets and Fairs are nearing. Lots of making and firing by me, and photographing by my lovely husband - who may I say, always takes such lovely shots and invariably gets very little notice from me that they need taking, until, "Could you photograph this for me please? Oh, and I need it in an hour!"
The first exhibition of of the year was at the Blisland Institute on Bodmin Moor, here in Cornwall. Trudi did a cracking job of curating the show, which was well attended in the small but very pretty village over the long Easter weekend in April. My lamps, seed heads, and other pieces were set in amongst a mixture of all sorts of other Artisans crafters work, and the whole hall looked a treat.
Coming Up - Delamore Arts
The next exhibition is at Delamore House, Cornwood, near Ivybridge. Set on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon, this beautiful estate and gardens are not far from Plymouth, and easily accessible from the A38 and the Moor side.
The large gardens are home to many beautiful sculptures for the whole month of May, from metal pigs to soaring stainless steel swallows, stone carvings, and wooden beasts.
The house itself is full of wonderful paintings, and the Stable Block is showcasing the Kiln Room. This will be a display of incredibly varied ceramics, including some of my own larger vessels and lamp bases. Outside, my seed heads will be bobbing in the sun and wind, but hopefully not the rain - and of course you can buy as well as just look!
My pottery will be there to see all through the exhibition, but I will be there myself on the Preview Day, Sunday 26th April, (but only between 12 and 4.30pm).
I will also be doing some shifts, assisting with the stewarding of the Kiln Room. The dates and times for these aren't set yet, so check out my Instagram pages and see when I'm around if you'd like to meet me!

Toby's Garden Festival
Also in May is the beautiful Toby’s Garden Festival at Powderham Castle, near Exeter. Open all day on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd May. I shall be in the Artisan Barn.
There is so much to see and do at this festival with many well known faces from the gardening world appearing for talks and just mingling.
Easily accessible, it's on the Exeter to Dawlish Road and the train station at Starcross is a short stroll away.
But do remember: Bring something to carry all your goodies home with you, hopefully including some of my pottery!
bye for now,
