Updates
Updates to my sadly neglected blog have been added recently.
You will now find the Events Calendar page is up to date with the upcoming events I am doing, to replace the old and long past events that have been there for months.
Apologies for anyone visiting and finding that very little was happening here. In my defence, I've been so busy! My poor husband, whose job it is to do the updates - at very favourable husband rates - has been asking me for something to put on here often enough, but I've been either away doing a fair or in the studio making things, instead of thinking about what to write about here. Sorry!
Setting up to sell things at two different fairs, one in Kent and the other in Surrey, were major operations. Firstly there was a lot of making things in the run-up to them. Then they involved long drives from darkest Cornwall and a lot of work - loading, driving, unloading, setting up stalls in far away places, and then after a few days smiling, chatting, and being charming (hopefully), stripping it all down and loading, driving, and unloading again at home!
It is not really my philosophy to sell remotely and online via a simple picture of what I make. I understand that people want to buy things straight from off the page - it's almost expected these days - but I prefer to meet the people who are providing homes for my pottery, rather than being stuck in a studio churning it out for nothing but an order sheet spat out of a printer.
I'm not doing this for turning myself into a factory! I want to enjoy what I do for the love of it, and hear the stories of people I meet at the fairs.

Here's a picture of my latest lamp, an evolution of the poppy seed head garden ornaments which have been super popular at all the fairs I've attended recently.
